Zamzam Well

Nestled just 21 meters east of the sacred Ka'bah, the Zamzam well is a historic marvel with a circumference of 3.6 meters. Known by various names such as Suqya Ismail, Safiah, Mubarakah, Salimah, and Tahirah, each reflecting its purity and blessed nature, the well has been meticulously taken care of throughout history. This legacy of preservation was fervently upheld during the Saudi era, beginning with King Abdulaziz. In 1345 AH, he initiated the construction of a charitable fountain for Zamzam water, followed by a second one a year later, along with the well's maintenance and enclosure. This dedication has persisted, with King Salman endorsing the completion of Zamzam well projects and the establishment of five service channels in 1439 AH.

The Zamzam Water Distribution Center plays a pivotal role, ensuring that the water from the well meets the highest quality standards for Hajj and 'Umrah pilgrims. Additionally, the Zamzam Lab is instrumental in overseeing the sterilization of the water and the filling of tanks destined for the Prophet's Mosque, guaranteeing the sanctity and safety of this precious resource for all who seek its blessings.
