The Honorable Chamber

Visitors to the Prophet’s Mosque often pay their respects at the Prophet’s Burial Chamber, where they greet the Prophet (blessings and peace be upon him) and his two companions, Abu Bakr and Omar (may Allah be pleased with both of them).

The Prophet’s Chamber, also known as the Prophet's House, is situated in the southeast of the Prophet’s Mosque. Aisha, may Allah be pleased with her, was honored by Allah Almighty, as the tomb of the Prophet (blessings and peace be upon him) and his two companions, Abu Bakr As-Siddiq and Omar bin Al-Khattab, was placed in her room.

The Prophet, blessings and peace be upon him, fell ill, passed away, and was buried in Aisha's room. It is said that the Prophet had mentioned, “Every prophet is buried where he died.” Subsequently, his two companions, Abu Bakr and Omar, may Allah be pleased with them both, were also laid to rest there.

A distinctive green dome, constructed in 1253AH, marks the room where the Prophet and his companions were buried. This iconic green dome has become a symbol of the Prophet’s Mosque and is a significant landmark for visitors and pilgrims.
