In the sacred precincts of the Haram, individuals who are physically challenged, feeling unwell, or simply exhausted have the option to perform their circumambulation, an act of worship, while seated in a wheelchair. It is crucial for them to stay alert and focused during this ritual, engaging in continuous remembrance and supplication to Allah.
For such pilgrims, the Haram provides a variety of wheelchair services to facilitate their movement. Pilgrims with their own wheelchairs are welcome to use them, entering through designated areas for such vehicles. Additionally, complimentary wheelchairs are available for those in need during Hajj or Umrah, especially if they have an attendant to assist with the pushing during the Sa'i ritual.
These complimentary wheelchairs can be found at strategic locations around the Haram, including the Eastern Square at the Mass Transit Entrance, the Southern Square near the endowment of King Abdulaziz, and the Western Square at the Shubaikah Gate.
Moreover, a professional wheelchair push service is offered, where trained young individuals assist pilgrims by pushing their wheelchairs. Electric wheelchairs are also available for those seeking more autonomy. These safe and easy-to-operate wheelchairs come in single and double configurations, ensuring a smooth and independent circumambulation and Sa'i experience. Pilgrims can access these electric wheelchairs on the first Mezzanine floor designated for circumambulation and Sa'i, ensuring that all worshippers, regardless of their physical condition, can fulfill their religious duties with dignity and ease.
