Visiting the Prophet's Tomb

When a Muslim travels to Madinah, it is recommended to visit the tomb of the Prophet, blessings and peace be upon him, and offer greetings. There is no need for a prior reservation through mobile applications.

The Protocol for Visiting the Prophet's Tomb

Visitors enter through the As-Salam Gate at the front of the Prophet's Mosque and proceed calmly and quietly. Upon reaching the opposite side of the Prophet's Burial Chamber, where the honorable grave of the Prophet is located, they should greet the Noble Messenger by saying, "Peace, mercy, and blessings of Allah be upon you, Messenger of Allah." They should also offer prayers for the Messenger of Allah, then take a step forward to greet Abu Bakr As-Siddiq, and another step forward to greet Omar bin al-Khattab.

Guidelines for Visiting the Prophet's Tomb

Visitors are expected to stand respectfully and quietly, refraining from raising their voices. The Prophet, blessings and peace be upon him, is revered both in life and in death. When offering greetings, visitors should stand as close to the grave as possible, facing it, and keep their interaction brief. They should exit with calmness and dignity, making room for others to pay their respects.
