Wed Dec 24 2025

Visitors to the Grand Mosque must be mindful of prohibited items to ensure a serene and safe environment. The mosque forbids the entry of most foods and beverages; however, exceptions are made for coffee, dates, and water, acknowledging their cultural significance. Sharp objects, which could pose a risk to the safety of the pilgrims, are not allowed. Similarly, flammable liquids are banned due to the potential hazard they represent. To avoid congestion and maintain order, large bags, and luggage, as well as baby strollers, are not permitted within the mosque's premises. Pilgrims are advised against leaving their personal items unattended at the entrance. Instead, they are encouraged to use the secure storage facilities provided in the outer courtyards of the Haram. These measures are in place to protect the sanctity of the mosque and ensure a peaceful experience for all worshippers.
